# Rock Protects Rock — Personal Origin and Research Status

Dylan Schofield · 18 September 2026

## Why I began

For thirteen years, I’ve worked across marketing, design and technology, within companies, at an agency and independently—and I still freelance today.

Five years ago, I began a new career in housing. Today, I work full-time as a mortgage agent and REALTOR® in my hometown of North Bay, Ontario, Canada, continuing my family’s legacy in homeownership.

Rock Protects Rock grew from the first clear connection between my independent research and my work in housing. It led me to ask what our homes and cities could become—for people and Earth.

## My creative practice

**Creative Director & Proof-of-World Designer**

I give people, businesses and ideas an identity others can recognise and understand. My independent creative practice brings research and imagination together in worlds people can explore, question and discuss. I use “proof of world” to describe making an idea tangible enough to examine—its possibilities, its assumptions and what still needs testing.

## Author’s note

These papers and this essay are not peer reviewed. FNIZ—the Fraction-Network Interface-Zone model—is an unvalidated hypothesis. Earlier wording such as “comprehensive validation,” “proving” and “unambiguous” should not be read as independent confirmation or scientific consensus.

I am sharing the original publications as a record of the questions that led to this artwork. Their historical and statistical interpretations require independent scrutiny. They do not establish ancient geopolymer construction, predict disasters, validate a building site or demonstrate the performance of the homes pictured here.

Rock Protects Rock’s invitation to test modern materials does not depend on these hypotheses being correct. Any future material, building or environmental claim needs its own evidence.

## The writing behind the question

### [Predictable Earth, Survivable Places — Part II](https://zenodo.org/records/19324556)

An unreviewed working paper about proposed connections between material selection, geological sourcing and megalithic architecture.

### [Geopolymer Construction and the FNIZ Model](https://zenodo.org/records/18371461)

An unreviewed, unvalidated hypothesis connecting ancient sites and mineral resources. The original title is a publication record, not independent confirmation.

### [The Teaching Hut](https://substack.com/home/post/p-185872133)

A speculative essay asking whether architecture might preserve practical instructions. It includes credited third-party footage references and AI-edited imagery.

These publications document the origin of the artwork. Views and downloads are not scientific validation. No new peer review or independent validation is reported by this edition.
